Who We Are
President / Owner
Ted Bush has more than 27 years of experience in the metal building industry and has served as President since 2001. Ted began his career at Red Dot Buildings as Operations Manager in 1994 and was promoted to Vice President of Operations in 1997. Since 2001, Ted has led the growth and evolution of Red Dot Buildings through the good as well as the challenging economic periods, and is committed to continually grow Red Dot Buildings as a third generation owner of the business. Mr. Bush has a B.S. in Business Administration from Baylor University and a M.B.A. in Masters of Sport Management from the University of Richmond.
Senior Vice President of Sales
Brian Jones has served as Senior Vice President of Sales since 2015. Brian began his career in the metal building industry at Red Dot Buildings and has successfully worked his way up through the ranks over the years. Brian took a position as Accounting Manager in 1999 and was promoted to Vice President of Operations in 2003 through 2012, and then he assumed the position as Vice President of Accounting until 2015. Mr. Jones has a B.S. in Business Administration, Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas Tyler and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Senior Vice President of Construction
Tom Perry has served as our Senior Vice President of Business Development and Marketing since 2017. He came to Red Dot Buildings with more than 27 years in the construction, metal components, and metal building industries. Tom began his career in the component industry in 1995 as a Regional Manager for MBCI and climbed the corporate latter holding various positions within multiple companies of NCI Building Systems over a 22 year career. Over those years Tom served as Regional Manager, Sales Manager, General Manager and Senior General Manager. Mr. Perry has a B.S. in Industrial Technology / Construction Management from East Carolina University
Senior Vice President / Chief Financial Officer
David Sherzer has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since the Fall of 2017. He brings to Red Dot Buildings a diverse background of experience in public affairs, strategic planning, analytics, financial and operational leadership. David worked in the White House from 2003-09, lastly as a commissioned officer leading the team responsible for planning and executing the President's public appearances. He moved to Dallas in 2009 to help launch the Office of George W. Bush, serving as a senior advisor to the former president. Subsequently, David worked in the Strategy group at Reata Pharmaceuticals, helping to lead the strategic, planning and budgeting processes of a growing company and overseeing corporate and product communications. Most recently, David led a private equity group that built, operated, and ultimately sold a chain of restaurants. Mr. Sherzer has a B.A. from Dartmouth College.
Vice President of Manufacturing
Scott Barrett has served as our Vice President of Manufacturing since 2014. Before that he served as Vice President of Project Management from 2012 to 2014, and Director of Construction from 2009 to 2012. Before joining Red Dot Buildings, Mr. Barrett was employed by Efficient Attic Systems in 2009, where he served as Director of Operations. Prior to joining Efficient Attic Systems, Mr. Barrett was employed by Highland Homes where he served as Senior Project Manager from 2005 to 2009 and Humphreys and Partners Architects as Senior Project Manager from 1998 to 2005. Mr. Barrett has a B.S. in Architecture from Texas A&M University.
Vice President of Engineering
Jim Beckham has served as our Vice President of Engineering since 2011 and has served in various other capacities as Vice President of International Projects, Special Projects Manager and others since joining Red Dot Buildings in 1999. Prior to joining Red Dot Buildings, Jim was employed by Futuremed where he served as Medical Device Product Development Engineer from 1994 to 1999. Mr. Beckham has a B.A in Foreign Service from Baylor University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
William (B.J.) Harlow
Director of Construction
B.J. has served as Director of Construction since 2015. Mr. Harlow joined the Red Dot team in 2012 as a Purchasing Agent, and has also managed our Operations and Logistics department. Before joining Red Dot, B.J. held a position as a technical writer for a defense contractor. Mr. Harlow has a B.S. from Texas A&M University.
Vice President of Sales
Ryan Reeves has been with Red Dot since 2017. Starting as an estimator, he quickly showed his potential and was able to move up quickly through positions in multiple departments, including sales analyst, project manager, logistics manager, and director of operations. He was most recently the General Manager prior to his promotion in 2020 to Vice President of Sales. Prior to working with Red Dot, Ryan worked in public education where he was a math teacher and coach, before taking a position as an Assistant Principal. Mr. Reeves received his B.S. from The University of Texas at Tyler and a M.Ed. from the University of North Texas.
