Rollertown Beerworks: Where Metal Building Innovation Meets Urban Entertainment

Downtown Frisco’s Rail District has a new anchor destination. Rollertown Beerworks has opened its 20,900-square-foot headquarters at 6450 Main Street, combining beer production, hospitality, and entertainment in a facility that highlights what a modern pre-engineered metal building system can deliver in a high-visibility urban environment.

The brewery also marks a milestone for its ownership group, which includes Dirk Nowitzki, Torii Hunter, Travis Frederick, and Dude Perfect, with leadership from Ben Rogers and Jeff Wade (former local radio hosts of The Ben & Skin Show), CEO Jonathan Rogers, and a team of local partners, while highlighting the growing use of metal building systems in mixed-use entertainment districts.

A Complex Program on a Prime Site

Red Dot Buildings supplied the turnkey metal building system for the project, which is situated on a 2.5-acre site adjacent to Frisco’s landmark grain silos and near Toyota Stadium. Supported by the City of Frisco and its development partners, the facility strengthens the link between the Rail District and the broader entertainment corridor.

The approximately 20,900-square-foot complex includes:

  • A 15,200-square-foot production brewery capable of more than 75,000 barrels annually

  • a 5,700-square-foot two-story taproom and restaurant

  • a rooftop deck

  • an outdoor beer garden

  • a live performance stage

Meeting the Technical Demands of Brewery Design

Brewery operations require high ceilings, clear-span layouts, strong structural capacity for overhead utilities, and reliable temperature and humidity control. They also need the ability to support future equipment additions without major structural work.

Integrating hospitality with production adds another layer of complexity. Guest areas must maintain visibility into the brewhouse while still managing acoustics and environmental separation.

Our metal building system provided the structural framework and building envelope necessary to support all program components effectively.

The COR-TEN Expression

For the exterior, we specified Berridge roof and wall panels with COR-TEN AZP® Raw Finish. Weathering steel develops a natural patina that eliminates the need for painting and reduces long-term maintenance—ideal for venues with heavy foot traffic and regular outdoor events.

The industrial aesthetic also aligns with modern brewery design and gives the building a strong identity within Frisco’s entertainment district.

Production Flexibility Built In

Rollertown’s production floor includes large-scale, mid-size, and small experimental brewing systems, enabling a wide range of output. The brewery currently offers 21 beers on tap and rotates new releases frequently, including The Big German, a Kölsch honoring Dirk Nowitzki.

The clear-span design of the metal building system allows efficient equipment placement and future layout changes without structural modification.

Visual Connection Between Guests and Production

Open sightlines give visitors views of the brewhouse from multiple vantage points, including the upper-level taproom overlooking both the production floor and downtown Frisco. Achieving this required careful coordination of acoustics and environmental control.

The flexibility of the metal building system made it possible to develop distinct program zones concurrently, helping maintain the project schedule.

Supporting Frisco's District Development Strategy

This project supports Frisco’s vision to transform the Rail District from underused industrial land into a thriving hospitality destination. As the district grows, the speed, adaptability, and cost efficiency of metal building systems will continue to play a major role in shaping new development.

Key Takeaways

The Rollertown Beerworks facility offers several insights for teams working on similar brewery and hospitality projects:

Speed to market matters.

Pre-engineered metal building systems reduce construction time, helping new districts gain momentum.

Flexibility ensures long-term value.

Breweries evolve. A metal building system that accommodates equipment changes and layout modifications remains efficient as operations grow.

Metal buildings excel in urban settings.

With materials like weathering steel and thoughtful detailing, metal building systems deliver sophisticated architecture in prominent locations.

Integration drives success.

Production, hospitality, and entertainment functions work best when supported by a structure designed for mixed-use programming.

The Growing Craft Beverage Sector

Rollertown Beerworks adds to our expanding portfolio of craft beverage facilities, where operational needs, architectural expectations, and tight timelines make pre-engineered metal building systems an ideal solution.

Looking Ahead

As brewery development grows across Texas and beyond, projects like Rollertown demonstrate how a metal building system can support complex, multi-use environments. Red Dot Buildings continues to partner with teams that value efficiency, operational flexibility, and strong architectural presence.
